"Let's go," James Black urged, holding a thermos in one hand and the car keys in the other, as he led Jane Sampson out of the home doorway.
Although James had told her she could rest while on the road, once the car had started moving, Jane Sampson felt quite spirited.
After getting into the car, James promptly gave the thermos to her. Jane didn't ask any questions, instinctively assuming that the cup contained James's brewed tea leaves water.
Many of James Black's habits were almost identical to those of Old Master Black; he would leave the house as if an old cadre, always carrying a thermos filled with tea leaves water.
Therefore, Jane only begrudgingly held the thermos for a while before disdainfully setting it aside.
James must have noticed her action, so he spoke up, "The water is prepared for you."
Jane expressed surprise, "Just so you know, I don't drink tea water! Drinking a whole pot would keep me awake all night."
