Jane Sampson stood right behind Mair Williams, watching as Mair clutched the gift intended for the black-face instructor tightly in her hand. The instructor took it, but Mair didn't let go, her eyes locked on Mair's face, which was crying like pear blossoms in the rain. The black-face instructor was totally flustered and quickly let go of the gift.
Mair hesitated for a good few seconds, "Forget it, it's already done, here, take it, take it. Anyway, even if you throw it away, I won't see it."
Mair said that, then stretched out her hand and stuffed it towards him again.
It appeared she didn't know what she had made, and now seemed a bit regretful.
"No matter what it is, I won't throw it away," Liam Woody thought the girl was crying because she feared her gift would be discarded, so he hastened to explain as he opened his mouth.
Mair stopped herself from saying more and then moved forward to give gifts to the other instructors.
