James Black had massaged Jane Sampson's hands and feet all over, and while he was bent over, diligently massaging her, Jane Sampson's eyes never left him.
When he was on her left, her brain followed to the left, and when he moved to her right, she again shifted her gaze to the right.
James Black noticed she was staring and would occasionally lift his gaze to meet hers for a few seconds. She giggled, and he would avert his eyes, not saying a word from beginning to end.
Jane Sampson began to wonder, did James Black really get angry about this morning's incident?
If he wasn't angry, why had he been sarcastic with her since lunch and just now? He was looking at her but barely speaking to her.
