James Black could discern the hidden emotions behind her words when she said she was fine. He lowered his gaze, eyes settling on her face for a few seconds, before speaking, "Deserved it."
???
What the heck!
Jane Sampson halted, slightly pulling down her glasses, and after accomplishing the act of glaring at him, she huffed and pushed them back up.
"If you feel it's hard, you can quit and go home," James Black pinched the soft hand he was holding, "If you think it's boring at home alone, you can join the team and live with me."
In Jane Sampson's mind, there was only one sentence.
She must be crazy to think it's boring at home alone and decide to join the team.
"Thank you, Chief Black, for your concern, but I feel like I'm not tired at all," Jane Sampson said with a laugh in her voice, "So, no need to bother with the paperwork for me to join the team."
"Huh," James Black scoffed coldly, "Has your company taken care of the blog incident from this morning?"
