Then he could hear faint jogging sounds coming from inside the room, and a few seconds later the door opened from the inside, and Jane Sampson stood at the doorway looking bewilderedly at him.
"Huh, how come you're back?"
Without any pretense, her tone was full of astonishment.
James Black's gaze rested on her face for a few seconds before he naturally took her left hand and walked in, then lifted his foot to close the door behind them.
After bending down to change his shoes, James Black finally answered Jane Sampson's earlier question.
"To take you to the airport," he said.
After saying this, he let go of Jane Sampson's soft hand and headed to the bathroom, asking her on the way, "Have you packed all your luggage?"
