James Black sat alone in his room for a while, his thoughts a mystery, but when he descended the stairs, Jane Sampson was frolicking with the Great General in the courtyard.
The same person who had earlier stuffed themselves and complained of a stomachache after a short run was now seemingly fit enough to play Frisbee with the Great General.
James Black stood in front of the patio window, watching them without any intention of joining in. Old Master Black appeared from somewhere in the courtyard and came to stand by his side.
"James Black," Old Master Black called out to the person by his side who had been silent all this while.
"Grandfather," James Black responded.
"Promise me that you and Jane's child will definitely be a daughter like Jane, and not a son like you," Old Master Black said.
James Black's mouth twitched slightly.
