"The one from yesterday," Jane Sampson replied without hesitation, "Although the color today is nice too, bright red just seems too flashy for everyday wear."
James Black wasn't really considering which color Jane mentioned was better looking; he just heaved a sigh of relief in his heart after receiving Jane's unequivocal preference for yesterday's color.
He thought to himself, that's good.
As they talked, they arrived at the vegetable section. Jane watched James picking out vegetables as if he knew what he was doing and really wanted to ask him, Chief Black, are you truly adept at such down-to-earth tasks?
The bunch of vegetables in your hand, anyone with common sense could tell were leftovers from yesterday that nobody wanted.
But seeing James so earnestly selecting them, Jane held back from pointing it out to him, or rather, her mind wasn't really on it at all.
