She had been standing just fine, but suddenly she was airborne, and Jane Sampson's little heart nearly leapt out of her chest from the fright James Black gave her.
As she heard James Black's words, she hurriedly did as he said, after all, she was quite worried he wouldn't be able to hold her and would drop her onto the ground, just like she had accidently dropped his aftershave, perhaps to punish her for breaking his stuff by dropping her onto the glass shards.
Fortunately, James Black wasn't so malicious. Once he confirmed that there were no glass shards on Jane's feet, he carried her out of the bathroom.
Back in the bedroom, James walked straight to the bed and placed the woman in his arms, quietly watching him with a fearful expression, onto the bed. Then, without saying a word, he headed straight into the bathroom himself.
