James Black stepped back, giving way to space. He didn't have a habit of organizing women's clothes; it was purely because seeing the suitcase there and the cloakroom barren bothered him, so he took it upon himself to put Jane Sampson's clothes back one by one.
He stood behind Jane, watching her quickly and skillfully put her things back in their place. After watching for nearly a minute, he finally spoke up, "Noodles for lunch?"
"I'm fine with anything." Jane almost instinctively asked which takeaway to order from, but before the question could escape her lips, she realized that it wasn't Nina Rice or Peter Gingery standing behind her, but the old-fashioned James Black, Chief Black.
Jane stood up, turned around to look at James, and said, "Shall I start cooking then? I can sort these out in the afternoon."
"I'll do it," James pressed his hand on Jane's shoulder, pushing her back down. "Sort through your stuff as quickly as you can and come out for lunch."
