In the bathroom, there was a moment of silence filled only by the intertwined sound of their breathing.
When James Black released her, Jane Sampson could feel her lipstick was probably about to bleed.
"Let's go, go change your clothes," James Black said cheerfully as he hugged the dazed young wife and left the bathroom.
As they left, Jane only had one thought—thank goodness she still had a mask to cover her lips reddened from James's kisses; early in the morning, she had even saved on lipstick.
The pair had overslept early in the morning and had lingered in the bathroom before leaving. By the time they arrived at the hospital, it was already 11:30. Fortunately, there were acquaintances at the hospital, and as soon as James arrived, he went straight in for his examination.
But by the time the X-ray was in hand, it was already past twelve o'clock.
