Alexander Forest arrived at 4:30 p.m., and when he came, he was carrying something with him. As he entered, he handed it to Jane Sampson, who had come to open the door.
"If you're coming over, at least give a gift, how embarrassing," Jane Sampson laughed cheerfully as she took it.
Before she even had the chance to take a peek, she heard Alexander Forest's hearty laughter. "This is your man's stuff. We're familiar enough, who brings gifts just to drop by? Isn't that a waste of money?"
Jane instinctively turned her head to look at James Black in front of her. "His stuff, huh?"
"He's going to wear it for the formal wear in a bit," Alexander responded.
"Formal wear?" Jane's curiosity piqued even more. "Where are you guys going later? Why do you have to wear such formal clothes?"
Alexander hadn't even had a chance to reply when James, standing there, called Jane over.
"Come upstairs with me to help me change my clothes," James said.
