"If you won't let me ask, fine! Humph!" Jane Sampson muttered, "You must really not want me to go. I bet as soon as I'm on the airplane, you'll be crying secretly inside the car."
Even for someone as emotionally reserved as James Black, he was thoroughly amused by her words.
He reached out to put her mask back on, covering her slightly swollen lips, and chuckled to himself. So this was the flavor of the lipstick he'd given her.
"Remember, you're about to get your period, no cold drinks, no fried foods, and if you really crave something, just have a lollipop." James Black magically produced two lollipops from his pocket for Jane Sampson, "Don't eat too many."
They were Alps lollipops. Jane's eyes lit up, and, fearing James would take them back, she quickly snatched them and tossed them into her bag. After closing her purse securely, she patted it.
"Did you hear that?" James Black's voice lifted slightly.
