The taxi driver couldn't help but laugh, "Miss, if you want to go home, you need to tell me where your home is. When you just say 'home,' how am I supposed to know where to take you?"
"Oh, sorry." Jane Sampson pat her head, fuming because of James Black, feeling her brain had been scrambled by anger. She quickly gave him the address and then urged the taxi to hurry once again.
"Alright, to home we go!" said the taxi driver, who also had a sense of humor. He loudly acknowledged her request and then started the car.
After the car drove past the crossroads, the driver glanced in the rearview mirror and asked Jane Sampson, "Miss, do you know the car behind us? You've been watching it the whole way, and it's been following us all this time."
"Don't know it! Don't know it!" Jane Sampson waved her hands repeatedly in denial.
