Ruby Gregory, upon hearing Madeleine's voice the instant it traveled through the private room door, stood up from beside Steve Burton and rushed toward the entrance. When Madeleine entered the room, Ruby threw herself into her arms and they embraced tightly, "Madeleine, you've finally come back."
As she uttered these words, Ruby's eyes began to glisten with a layer of moisture. Madeleine didn't make a sound, only hugged Ruby back with all her might.
While in Oceania, she truly missed her childhood best friend, but now that they were reunited, there was an indescribable sense of emotion overwhelming her.
Steve Burton, Rusell Henris, Edward Woods, and Howard Coleman had all been playing cards out of boredom as they waited for Madeleine, and now that she had arrived, Edward Woods was the first one to throw down his cards and get up. He headed towards Madeleine, who had just walked in through the door.
