A petite figure appeared around the corner of the hallway.
Wilfred paused: "Mr. Bailey."
Wayne Bailey stopped in his tracks, looking up at Anna Jadwin who was wearing an oversized robe, like a child wearing an adult's clothes. She was barefoot, holding the hem with one hand, her hair messy, and was looking at him with pale lips.
Wayne Bailey slightly furrowed his brow, she was already so grown-up, yet still like a child who couldn't take care of herself!
Anna Jadwin's heart tightened. She had woken up, just catching a whiff of that familiar scent in the air, and guessed it was Wayne Bailey...
There was also a globe on her bedside table, so she was sure it was him!
Her heart raced and lost its rhythm. She stumbled out of bed, searched around and then ran out.
It really was him.
Wayne Bailey calmly called a servant to prepare clothes for her to change into.
He didn't look at her again, ready to leave.
"Wayne Bailey—" Anna Jadwin couldn't help but cry out.
