Anna Jadwin spoke softly, "Sometimes when I have nothing to do, I draw your likeness."
Wayne Bailey's eyes welled up with heat. If he hadn't heard that phone call, he would have almost believed her lie, as her performance had been so realistic.
He flipped through several more pictures, different looks of Wayne Bailey. Judging from his clothes, they were drawn from memory after each time she met with him.
Even the smallest details, like the scarf he wore, the delicate brooch on his chest and the exquisite embroidery on his cuffs, she remembered and drew them all.
He thought that she had never paid attention to him and rarely looked him in the eye.
Yet it turned out that she clearly remembered what he wore every time!
Ms. Jadwin, what an astonishing memory, and a master at feigned indifference...
"Is this how you see me?" Wayne said, his voice sounding gravelly from his throat.
