Norris Moore was awakened by his movements, her eyes half-open in a daze, "...huh?"
"Someone is looking for me." Trenton Smith got out of bed and stroked her hair, "I'll go take a look."
Norris gave a grunt and slipped back into a groggy sleep.
Trenton had already been neglecting work for three days.
Calls went unanswered, and the landline was ignored; it was apparent he was intentionally shirking his responsibilities.
After enduring it for three days at the company, Rufus Swallow, finding no news of the kid returning to work, seized the chance after the rain stopped and drove over early in the morning to catch him.
He sat on the sofa and saw Trenton descending the stairs, lazily dressed in a black bathrobe.
"What are you doing here so early in the morning?"
The man went to the fridge and poured himself a glass of water, his tone indifferent, exasperating to the point of anger.
