"What would you like to eat?" Trenton Smith stood at the kitchen doorway, turning to ask Norris Moore, who was sitting obediently in the dining room, "Pumpkin cream soup, pasta, fried eggs, bread, or steamed buns and soy milk?"
His kitchen offered a wide array of dishes.
"Steamed buns and soy milk. And a fried egg."
Norris still preferred Chinese-style breakfast.
Trenton brought over what she wanted.
Norris enjoyed a satisfying breakfast and then sat swinging her legs and resting her chin in her hands as she looked out the window.
Outside the dining room of Trenton's villa was a vast garden, where at this moment, in the warmth of spring, the garden was exceptionally lively.
"Can I go play in the garden after you leave?"
"Hmm," Trenton, while cutting a golden brown fried egg, spoke indifferently, "Suit yourself."
Norris glanced at him, then lowered her head to finish the soy milk she hadn't completed.
