Trenton Smith nodded his head, "Thank you."
Norris Moore ate with her eyes lowered.
After Maple Swallow left, they had lunch, and Trenton Smith called Maple's people over to clean up the dining table and then carried Norris to bed to coax her to sleep.
"Sleep now, I'll stay with you for a while."
Norris turned to her side and stretched out her hand to hook his fingers, asking in a soft voice, "Aren't you sleeping?" They had both been up late last night, and he'd gotten up early this morning, likely not having rested well.
Trenton Smith lowered his eyes to look at her soft appearance, his gaze softened, and he raised his hand to gently caress her face, "The car still needs to be modified, and we should leave the day after tomorrow at the very latest, I need to settle the timing."
