She leaned into his arms, still looking listless, her face pale as snow.
"You stay here first, and I'll come to see you after work."
"Once you're better, I'll take you home. You won't have to stay long."
Norris Moore smiled faintly, "I'm not scared. Don't worry, I will get better."
She slipped her hand into his pocket, pulled out the pack of cigarettes, and tucked it into her down jacket pocket, "Give me the lighter."
Alex Miller handed her the lighter.
"Give me some time," Norris Moore said as she lit a cigarette, "I will be back to normal soon."
A smile on her face, her snow-white and delicate features still retained a trace of her past charm.
Alex Miller watched her, thinking of the carefree and wild girl from his memories, and his heart ached like it was being cut by a knife.
Time had been too cruel to her, he had been too powerless to protect her properly.
He hoped it was not too late.
