Rufus Swallow withdrew his gaze and led Norris Moore upstairs.
That night, Trenton Smith came knocking on her door again.
Norris had known he would come. She directly opened the door and let him in.
The wedding dress she and Rufus had bought from the couture shop was hanging on the rack, a white mermaid tail dress with diamond-encrusted hems, and it looked beautiful under the light.
Trenton walked over and stood in front of the rack, looking at the dress for a while before calmly saying, "You don't seem to have taken my words to heart."
"Oh, probably because..." Norris leaned against the door and laughed coldly, "I don't trust you much."
Trenton turned around and looked up at her slightly.
Her hair was loose, still wearing the same clothes she had on during the day, playing with an unlit cigarette between her fingertips. She seemed indifferent and dismissive of him.
