"Thank you." Norris Moore whispered her thanks softly.
She lay in bed, slowly regaining the feeling in her body. Her limbs were still numb, so she moved her fingers before slowly placing her hand on her lower abdomen.
She opened her eyes and stared at the grayish-white ceiling above her.
It felt cold and empty.
She removed her hand and looked blankly into the space before her.
Rufus Swallow entered the room, walked over, and held her hand resting on the bed edge. "Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"No. How long was I unconscious?"
"Three days." His eyes landed on her face, so pale that it seemed translucent, as he couldn't hide his heartache. "You lost a lot of blood, and it took the doctors a whole day to save you."
Norris Moore chuckled at his words, "I've really been a regular at the hospital lately." She had been to the operating room countless times.
Perhaps she was really lucky, as she somehow didn't die.
