After Liam left, Trenton lifted his head to glance at Liam's retreating figure.
There was a flash of probing darkness in his eyes, but he didn't make any further moves and quickly looked away.
Edward, sitting nearby, put down his wine glass and said to Trenton, "Smith, I'm stuffed too. I'm going for a walk outside. You and Norris take your time enjoying your meal."
Edward was a restless man himself. Trenton nodded, and went on eating dinner with Norris Moore.
Edward went out and saw Liam leaning against the wall in the corner of the corridor, smoking with his head down.
He walked over and asked, "What's wrong? Your face looks terrible. Are you unhappy with Smith's girlfriend?"
He had known Liam for decades, and in all those years, he had been Liam's only friend. Apart from their similar achievements giving them common ground, Edward had also grown very familiar with Liam's disposition.
