Trenton Smith looked up at Eric Candi and smiled, "Then I'll have to ask you to stay here for three days. Philip Shaw knows you're here, and it's probably not safe outside. Please forgive any lack of hospitality."
"Not at all," Eric replied indifferently, "It's us who are troubling you."
After the exchange of polite words, Trenton called his servants to take Eric and Ellen Candi to their guest rooms to rest.
Eric stood up from the sofa, holding Ellen's hand, his tone gentle, "Ellen, let's go to the room to rest. You didn't sleep well today. Let's go to bed, alright?"
With thunder rumbling outside, Ellen shrank into his embrace, her eyebrows slightly furrowed as she quietly agreed.
Observing her expression, a few emotions flashed through Eric's eyes, but he said nothing and led Ellen upstairs.
Norris Moore watched the couple leave, turning her gaze back to the button on Trenton's shirt, she whispered, "This Ellen..."
