Halfway there, Tilly Flower called: "Where are you now? I have an ambulance with me, but the place is too remote, and the ambulance can't get in. Where have you guys reached?"
Trenton Smith saw the lights at the end of the road from afar. He looked down at Norris Moore's pale face in his arms. She had already passed out, and only her faint breath brushed against his arm.
"I see you guys." He said into the phone, "Tell them to bring the stretcher down. She's lost too much blood and needs immediate rescue."
Tilly Flower's breath hitched a little, and then she whispered, "Understood."
When Trenton's car arrived at the ambulance, medical staff with a stretcher were already waiting. Tilly Flower watched Trenton carry the blood-soaked Norris Moore out of the car. Her face grew solemn as the doctor brought an oxygen mask, and Trenton placed Norris on the stretcher. Medical staff swarmed around her to perform a blood transfusion.
