After Norris Moore had spoken, she turned to leave, but Trenton Smith coldly commanded, "Stop."
Moore paused momentarily, but did not halt her steps.
"Now that Alex Miller has returned, you feel emboldened, don't you?"
"....." Moore halted suddenly, her back towards him, her lips tightened slightly.
The man's thin breath draped over her from behind as he reached out and once again pulled her back into the room. Norris Moore stood there, looking at Trenton Smith. Both her gaze and expression were cold, as though glazed over with a thin layer of frost.
He lowered his gaze onto her cold demeanor, his tone even: "I didn't realize you cared so much about me that you would become upset because I went to her birthday."
Moore was close to laughing from exasperation. Suppressing her urge to roll her eyes, she retorted coldly: "You could stand to be even more shameless, Trenton Smith."
