Norris's recovery progress was slow.
It was a good sign, however, that she went from only being able to consume liquid foods to eating some soft, tender foods.
Treton took time off work to stay with her for a week but, in the end, couldn't keep it up any longer. Maple called and begged him to go back to work.
Without Treton watching her, Norris grew bolder. When Zara entered the room, Norris was trying to persuade the nurse to let her eat a steak.
"Your stomach can't handle that kind of food right now; it won't digest," Zara said indifferently.
Norris turned and saw Zara, dressed in her usual outfit and carrying a basket of fruit.
She wasn't wearing her white coat, just a white dress. With light makeup applied and her cool, moving temperament, she wasn't as otherworldly beautiful as Sherry but still very pleasing to the eye.
Zara placed the fruit basket on the coffee table and walked over to Norris. "You seem to be doing much better."
