"If I say, the reason I chose to let you go initially was because I thought Rufus wouldn't dare harm you. Would you believe me?" He stared at her somberly as he asked.
"You thought so?" Norris laughed lightly, her gaze steady on him, "On what basis did you think so? Why do you take it upon yourself to decide what could and couldn't happen? Why—just because you love me, should I forgive you?"
"That incident was indeed my fault." He kept his gaze on her, "I didn't know he'd go to such lengths to get back at me. What do you want me to do before you can forgive me? Kill myself once, would that make you happy? Would my death finally satisfy you?"
Norris said quietly, "I want you to stop bothering me for the rest of your life. Then I'll forgive you."
"..."
"Can't you do it?" Norris smiled, an air of ruthless resolve about her, "Then don't expect my forgiveness."
The conversation had reached this point.
There was no room for turning back now.
