Norris Moore looked at him for a moment, then turned her head to look out the window.
Her tone was frosty, "It's not my scene. If I didn't go to the retest, I automatically forfeited. I just think you're pretending to care and it's disgusting. If you're biased, just say it. There's no need to ornament your words, do you think pretending to care about me can mask your feelings for Sherry White? Treton Smith, you like her, what are you afraid of? Do you think pretending to like me can hide your affection for her?"
"I like her?!" Treton stared at her, raising his voice as he did so. "After all I've told you, you still think I like her?! Norris Moore, are you blind?!"
Norris was left dizzy from his yelling.
She covered her ears, which were throbbing from his shouting, massaged them briefly, and glanced at the man's livid face. She turned away and began disinterestedly, "So what if you're embarrassed and angry? Do you have to shout? Can't you have some decorum?"
