This sentence, was meant for Norris Moore to hear.
But his gaze, it was on Rufus Swallow.
It was a command. And also a warning.
Upon hearing it, Norris Moore didn't say much, but merely chuckled softly.
She looked up at him, and asked laughingly, "May I ask - the honorable Mr. Trenton Smith, on what grounds are you saying these things to me?"

"A suitor? I'm sorry, but in these past five years, I've never been short of suitors." She curled her lips up into a charming and radiant smile, "Don't think that just because we've shared a bed a few times, you're entitled to shout at me. After all, Mr. Smith, you have quite a few female confidants yourself. If I don't fuss about it, what gives you the right to?"
"Norris Moore." He lowered his gaze to look at her, his voice deep, "I have no relation with her anymore, you know that. That night, if I hadn't gone when she slit her wrists, she could've died. She's not normal, you've seen it too, haven't you?"
