In the evening, Philip Shaw came to the hospital to visit Trenton Smith.
They hadn't seen each other in five years, but because of their similar personalities and interests, there was no sense of distance or alienation caused by time, and they were both still very familiar with each other.
Trenton Smith lay in bed with his laptop on his lap, processing work. When he saw Philip Shaw stroll in from the door, he just lifted his eyelids and quickly returned his gaze to the screen.
Curious, Philip Shaw walked over and looked at his friend's plastered arm. "How did you manage to get yourself admitted to the hospital in just three days after coming back?"
Without even looking up, Trenton Smith replied, "If you don't speak, no one will think you're a mute."
Philip Shaw laughed twice, walked over and sat on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and quietly smoked it by himself without disturbing him.
