When Trenton Smith entered the bedroom, he saw Norris Moore sitting on the bed with her back to him, huddled over a notebook, doodling away with a pen and paper.
He walked over and glanced at her: "What are you doing?"
Norris chewed on the pen in her hand, not lifting her head: "Looking for a job."
Trenton's eyebrows twitched at her response and he stared at her: "Looking for a job?"
Norris kept her head bowed as she jotted down notes in the notebook, humming in response but largely ignoring him.
Trenton bent down and swiped the notebook from under her, and Norris instinctively reached to grab it back. When she failed, her anger flared and she glared at him: "What the hell are you doing?"
Trenton's brows furrowed: "What kind of job are you looking for?" Does she think he can't support her?
Norris shot him a glance: "What's it to you?"
"I won't allow it."
"The contract doesn't say I can't work."
"Well, it can be added now."
"You...!"
