"Come in."
A deep male voice came from inside.
Norris Moore carefully pushed open the pearwood door of the study, saw Treton Smith sitting at his desk reviewing documents, and walked over to hand him the cup of coffee in her hand.
Treton's gaze slowly shifted from the documents to the steaming cup of coffee before resting on Norris's slightly uneasy face. His eyes darkened slightly and he spoke slowly, "What's the matter?"
Norris licked her lips and felt her mouth inexplicably dry. She twisted her fingers and whispered, "Elias's condition has worsened and he needs a kidney transplant. Can you please...help out, pull some strings and find a suitable donor for him?" Treton Smith's expression remained unchanged as he looked at her.
Seeing his calm demeanor, Norris's heart couldn't help but beat faster. Her relationship with him wasn't yet close enough to warrant such a favor, let alone the fact that Elias had no real connection to him.
