Rufus squinted his eyes and smiled at her.
His smile was friendly, but it made Norris break into a cold sweat.
This man didn't seem normal.
He claimed he accidentally knocked her unconscious, but her last memory was of him deliberately doing so!
She was certain she had never seen him before and couldn't have any grudge against him. Besides, his demeanor and poise suggested he wasn't an ordinary person.
Norris pursed her lips and walked backward toward the door.
The man leaned elegantly on the sofa, sipping his wine without stopping her.
Norris slightly relaxed.
He probably didn't intend to imprison her.
As she opened the door, a dark shadow lunged at her, accompanied by a strong smell of blood. Norris was momentarily unable to react, stupefied at the sight of the enormous creature at the doorway. Her pupils shrank rapidly due to extreme fear, and her body stiffened from the shock.
