Alex remained silent, just quietly looking at her.
Perhaps even he couldn't understand why it had come to this in the end.
He had done so much for her, tried his best to be together, but in the end... they still had to part ways.
He silently smoked his cigarette, the sea breeze was cold, causing his eyes to redden a bit.
Seeing Norris's small face, red from holding back tears, he reached up and tousled her hair forcefully: "It's alright. If we can't be together, then we can't." He sighed softly. "Is my sister okay now?"
Norris nodded vigorously: "She's already been saved. Norton is taking care of her at the hospital. They've hired the best surgeon, and after another blood transfusion tomorrow, she'll be fine."
Alex hummed in response and lapsed back into silence.
Norris lowered her head, not daring to look up at him, until Alex extended his hand, slowly handing her the ring in his hand and placing it in her palm.
"For you."
"Alex..."
"Don't you want it?"
