"I'm not leaving, I'm not leaving." Alex gently coaxed her, wiping the tears from her face and kissing her soft, cold cheeks. "Have you had lunch yet? Hmm? You didn't have breakfast either, did you?"
Norris curled up in his arms and shook her head. "I'm not hungry."
Alex frowned. "You really didn't have breakfast?"
Norris sobbed softly. "I said I'm not hungry."
Alex let go of her, and Norris looked confused as she opened her eyes. He patted her head. "Let me make you something to eat."
"Alex..." She didn't want to leave his arms right now; she longed for his scent too much. Just a minute apart felt unbearable. Alex kissed her. "Good girl, I'll be sad if you starve yourself." Her scared appearance made his heart ache. What kind of psychological shadow had Trenton Smith left on her that made her frightened by the smallest things?
