Alex Miller drove her along the coast.
The setting sun cast a golden glow over the blue sea, with waves dotting and seagulls flying above the horizon.
The car cabin was quiet. Alex stopped the car by the shore, and the two got out, leaning against the car door to watch the sea.
As the sky darkened, Norris Moore stood up and said softly, "I should go back, Alex."
Alex didn't respond.
Norris started to walk toward the taxi stand.
Footsteps followed her, and then she was suddenly embraced from behind. Norris stopped and whispered, "Alex, you promised."
"..."
"You should go abroad. Live a good life in America. Your aunt is old. Can you bear letting her worry and be afraid for you?"
"What about you?" Alex suddenly asked.
...
"When I leave, what will you do?"
"It's none of your business, Alex Miller. You're not my who, I'll be responsible for my own actions. Now everything is my own fault. Don't get involved in what's between him and me."
He held her quietly.
