Trenton Smith's eyes darkened slightly as he stepped forward, raising his hand to gently pinch her chin, stroking it like a caress.
Then he lowered his gaze and stared into Norris Moore's eyes, saying softly, "Norris, do you really think you can compare yourself to her?"
Because of that sentence, Norris's vision blurred for a second.
A place in her heart sank and shattered.
Indeed, what's sweet to one is bitter to another.
To her, Trenton was just poison.
And now, she was dying from that poison.
"Yes, Miss White is as pure as ice and jade, while I, Norris Moore, am dirty and lowly. How could I ever compare to you, a perfect couple of upstanding lovers?"
As the last three words left her mouth, Norris was pleased to see Trenton's eyes swirling with darkness.
She knew, she had always known.
Zara White was this man's weakness.
He could compromise himself for Zara, doing everything he didn't want to do for her sake.
He could abandon his pride and dignity for her life.
