Like a startled bird, the wounds he had inflicted on her still hadn't healed to this day; the moment she felt his proximity, the memories of being hurt by him surfaced.
"Aldana…" Eric looked at her, his voice low, "can't you see that I like you?"
Aldana widened her eyes in surprise, gazing at Eric for a while before responding, "Are you blind? I am Aldana, not Ellen!"
Eric's brow furrowed slightly as he said in a deep voice, "I haven't mistaken you for someone else…"
"If you haven't mistaken me for someone else, you shouldn't do such things to me!" she interrupted him quickly.
Eric's lips tightened. He watched Aldana in silence, then took a deep breath, stood up, and extended his hand towards her, "Let me take you back to your room."
Aldana slapped his hand away and turned to look outside the door, speaking softly, "Just bring my wheelchair. I can go back in that."
"..."
"Don't trouble yourself." Her tone was distantly polite, "I'll go back in the wheelchair."
