"If you really were that considerate of me, then you might as well leave now. Haven't I said it before? You're nothing but a burden to me now."

"Since my brother's people are here, I might as well have them take you back to the United Kingdom now." He pushed her away and stood up, "I've said it long ago, my staying here is my own business and it has nothing to do with you."
Norris Moore stood there, at a loss, watching Trenton Smith walk out and open the door. He shouted toward the empty doorway, "Call Maple Swallow to see me."
Then, with a 'snap,' he closed the door again, turned his head, and looked at Norris.
She seemed to be frightened by him, her little face deathly pale, her eyes red-rimmed, standing there, uncertain of what to do.
He indifferently withdrew his gaze, walked over to the sofa, and sat down, emotionlessly lighting a cigarette.
"Trenton Smith..."
She softly called his name.
He ignored her.
Norris bit her lip gently and stayed quiet.
