At the Civil Affairs Bureau doorway, the poker-faced man opened the car door for Samuel Noah Jackson and Michelle Campbell.
Michelle, holding the marriage certificate, waved her hand at him, "You don't need to send me home, I'll go back by myself." She smiled, feeling completely relaxed now that the family issue was resolved.
As her words fell, Samuel stopped by the car, furrowed his eyebrows, and turned to look at her.
"Going home?"
"Yes, I'll hail a taxi and go home later. Thank you so much for today!" She smiled innocently.
"Which home?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
This question made Michelle pause for a moment. Which home? She only had one home...
"Of course, it's my home!"
"The Campbell's residence?"
"Yes!"
"Michelle Campbell, let me remind you, now we are a couple. Do you understand the phrase where a husband leads, the wife follows?" He patiently asked her. She was married to him now, why wouldn't she go home with him?
"What do you mean?" Michelle looked at him, puzzled, unable to understand his words.
Weren't they a nominal couple? Why should she follow him?
"You're going to live in my home from now on!" Seeing her confusion, he briefly explained to her.
Michelle widened her eyes, they were going to live together?
"But, I have to go home every night, otherwise… my parents will worry…" She opened her mouth, trying to explain.
"That's not my concern. Get in the car!" he said, glancing at the sports car's back seat.
Michelle hesitated for a while but finally got into the car.
Since he helped her with something so significant, she had no choice but to obey.
After she was settled in the car, Samuel also got in and sat beside her.
The car door was closed, and the sports car slowly left the Civil Affairs Bureau and headed back to the mountainside villa.
On the road, he didn't say a word, just relaxed in his seat with his eyes closed, taking a nap.
Meanwhile, Michelle could only sit quietly, wondering how to explain to her parents why she wouldn't be staying at home later.
...…
By the time they reached Samuel's villa, the sky had already darkened.
After getting out of the car, Michelle followed him into the villa.
It was evening, but the lights in the villa were a bit dim.
Apart from that, the servants in the villa were strangely quiet. They would only come out to greet Samuel when he came home or if he had any requests; otherwise, they basically didn't wander around the villa.
This made Michelle feel weird, but considering Samuel was an odd person, it was normal for the place he lived to be strange too.
After Samuel returned to the villa, he went straight to the dining room and started working at the dining table.
It was evident that he was busy.
"Mister, dinner is ready." At this moment, a servant came over and whispered.
After saying that, he looked at Michelle sitting nearby with a surprised expression.
This made Michelle a bit puzzled.
Samuel nodded.
"Could you lend me your cellphone? I want to make a call to my family." Michelle finally couldn't help but speak.
It's already late, and if she didn't call home, her family would genuinely be worried.
Samuel glanced at her, then suddenly said, "Dylan Lewis!"
Not long after, the poker-faced man appeared in the restaurant.
Under Samuel's gaze, Dylan instantly understood and handed his cellphone to Michelle.
