Chapter 6 - Chapter Six:Unexpected Encounters

Sophia's phone buzzed with a message from her friend, Emma. "Hey, want to go shopping for my niece's birthday party? I need help with decorations and choosing a gift!" The invitation came as a welcome distraction, and Sophia eagerly agreed.

The bustling mall was alive with people, its corridors adorned with colorful banners and inviting storefronts. Sophia and Emma made their way to the party supply store, gathering an assortment of decorations and ordering a cake. Excitement bubbled in the air as they chatted about the upcoming celebration.

As they strolled into the children's dress section, their conversation shifted. "I need to find the perfect dress for my niece," Emma remarked, scanning the racks of dresses.

Sophia nodded, her eyes roaming over the tiny garments. Amidst the sea of fabrics, she heard a familiar voice—a fatherly, melodic voice that warmed her heart. Turning, she caught a glimpse of a man, his back to her, engaged in a tender moment with his young daughter.

The little girl, about five years old, was trying on dresses, twirling and giggling with delight. "Daddy, look!" she exclaimed, showing off each outfit to him. He laughed, his voice gentle. "You look amazing in all of them, sweetheart."

But the girl insisted, her voice sweet as honey, with pleading eye "No, Daddy, choose from these two. You have to decide."

Sophia couldn't help but smile at the scene. The father-daughter bond was heartwarming, and the child's innocence was a stark contrast to the complicated emotions that had once entangled her own life.

A sudden shift in the atmosphere made her heart race. The man turned, and her eyes met his—the familiar pair of hazel eyes that held a universe of memories. Liam Parker stood before her, looking just as surprised as she was.

The initial shock held them both in place, caught in a moment of suspended time. Emma's voice broke through the haze, asking for help, but Sophia was too captivated by the unexpected encounter. So Emma's eyes wander toward the direction where Sophia was looking.

Next to her, Emma leaned in and whispered, "Wow, the handsome billionaire is here with his adorable daughter. Lucky us!" Her words were laced with excitement.

Sophia snapped out of her daze and gathered herself. She murmured a response to Emma, her gaze breaking away from Liam's intense eyes. "Shut up! let's choose fast and grab a bite to eat. I'm hungry."

They found a cute dress for Emma's niece, and as they left the children's section, Sophia's heart raced once more. She felt Liam's eyes on her, but she refused to meet his gaze again.

With the dress chosen and the shopping complete, Emma suggested they head to a nearby café for lunch. As they walked away, Sophia's heart pounded with a mix of emotions. She focused on the excitement in Emma's voice, the laughter around her, and the simple joy of sharing this moment with her friend.

Once again, their lives had intersected unexpectedly, reminding them of the past and the choices that had brought them to this point. As Sophia walked alongside Emma, she couldn't deny the lingering traces of her encounter with Liam, the echoes of their shared history, and the unspoken questions that hung in the air.
