"Germany will face heavy economic sanctions under the Treaty of Versailles. They will use any means possible for getting money after some time. We will use that to our advantage. But we have to bid for our time for now." Luthor said. The two were currently talking about foreign affairs in Ankur's palace.
"What about the French? They must be pretty desperate for food now." Ankur said as Luthor nodded.
The war had taken a heavy toll on them. After getting nearly defeated by Germans, they only survived tmyhanks to Avalon's involvement. But they lost pretty much all of their grain stock due to the war.
"What about our own grain storage? How's the granary construction going? " Ankur asked.
Luthor took his diary and flipped a few pages. After reading it for a while he closed the diary and said "Small granaries are nearing completion in small villages. The warehouses near the cities are ongoing but are getting some delays due to material shortage. Birla was pretty happy about the contract though. He said that he will make sure it completes on time. "
Birla was a major businessman in the construction business. His company, Birla Construction was one of the largest construction companies in the Empire.
When Birla got the contract for construction of granaries, he was pretty happy.
"And what about my company? Have you completed the procedures? " Ankur asked.
Ankur had ordered Luthor to open his own company AC Coorporation a while back.
Relying on private investors for development was bad in the long run. It would be better if it was owned by the Empire.
"I have opened the company as you said. We have currently taken the contract for the construction of Rachi Industrial Complex as mentioned in your 5 Year Plans. The expected completion time would be 2 years. Also about the University, we have gotten hold of one existing one and plan to expand it and equip it with the latest technology for students" Luthor was pretty useful. He was good at what he does. Ankur appreciated talents like him.
"What about surplus grain stocks? "
"We have a few tons left. "
"Contact the French and ask if they want it. Negotiate with them at the highest price possible. The money we get will go towards the army. "
"I will get it done as soon as possible My Liege. "
Ankur sighed. War with Persians was inevitable now. He could only make preparations for a victory now.
