Chapter 1 - Meet The Unknown

Found in the universe are two kinds of creatures; spiritual creatures and physical creatures. The physical creatures are less superior to the spiritual creatures but find a way of undermining the powers of the spiritual creatures. The vice versa of this is that the spiritual creatures also feel mighty as they are more powerful than the physical creatures and yet, serve them all the time.

These two creatures depend on each other and none can act independently. But in recent times, the spiritual creatures have been greatly isolated by the physical creatures for they deem them as evil mercenaries. To help bring the two creatures together and strengthen their bond, the Master of The Heavens decided to create a new creature. Neither physical nor spiritual in nature, this creature hangs in between the two creatures and acts as a mediator, an intermediary channel that links the two together. With the ability to turn into a physical creature and a spiritual one, this creature has enormous power. To curb the power of this creature, the Master of The Heavens in His wisdom withheld a few things from this creature; an identity, a family, a purpose and emotions.

Without these things, this creature feels like the lowliest of all creations and as a result, obeys the Master of The Heavens with no compromise. This creature can be referred to as The Unknown.

The Unknown came into being more than two thousand years ago but no physical creature nor spiritual creature has heard of him. Despite having the ability to transform into any creature of his choice, he does not know how he personally looks like, for he is always in the disguise of another creature, just like a chameleon who might find it hard to know its original color. Due to his unrecognized self, he is never given an assignment until the need arises. Now, he has been called upon by the Master of The Heavens to receive an assignment. But why now?

The Master of The Heavens, seated in a celestial throne which shines brighter than the sun and so conceals his face, says to The Unknown: "In recent times, the most powerful physical creatures of the universe, known as humans, have been distancing themselves from the spiritual world. Due to their increase in knowledge and a subject they refer to as Science, they have alienated themselves from me, the Master of The Heavens. However, what they do not know is that the spiritual creatures are responsible for protecting their world and the more they alienate themselves, the more likely their world is to come into ruins. Since this would not bring any positive results, I am handing you a daunting task. My reason for giving you this task is because you are unknown and hence can perform it without anyone noticing. I am sending you to the Earth, to find a solution and help humans draw back to the spiritual world. From henceforth till further notice, you are to serve as a link between humans and spiritual creatures. But to assist you with this assignment, first go and receive instructions from The Road. He is the instructor given to you by me, the Master of The Heavens. All directions will be given by him."

The Master of The Heavens ends his words and so The Unknown leaves his sight and goes to see The Road. However, to see him, The Unknown needs to transform into an angel with four wings, two by his side, and the other two at his back. Once he has made this transformation, he would be ready to see The Road. Before making this transformation though, he needs to go to The Heavens and see the angels. This is because though he can transform into any creature of his choice, he can only do so within a distance of ten meters to the creature of his choice before he can transform into its kind. And so the need to go to The Heavens arises.

Still, the journey to The Heavens is not a simple one. To get to The Heavens, one needs to pass through The Holy River. This river cleanses one and makes the soul ready for the holiness of The Heavens. Whiter than crystals, clearer than the wind and vibrant as the rainbow, this river stretches from the Center of the Earth to the South Pole. However, it can't be seen with the naked eye. No spiritual creature lives in this water except Mother Nature. Humans have used this term for their physical universe, but she really exists. As the purest and cleanest creation, the Mother of Nature cleanses all who wish to travel to The Heavens.

"But where is she?" The Unknown asks himself as he can feel his soul present in the river. However, he can't seem to locate Mother Nature. As a very powerful spirit creature, at times, she can disappear and go into non-existence. What causes this is the activity of humans which tend to make the Holy River impure.

"Maybe she is somewhere purifying this river," The Unknown thinks to himself.

Time flies by slowly and as he is stuck in the middle of the river, The Unknown starts to feel the clouds above him getting darker.

This makes him wonder: "What is this supposed to mean? No place on Earth is brighter than here. So why am I seeing dark clouds instead of a bright morning light?"

"It's about to get impure," a female's voice mentions behind him. His soul does not feel startled by the voice as he can't feel emotions. Rather, he asks the voice: "Where have you been, Mother Nature? I have waited for your grace under the darkened clouds."

"The darkened clouds shall brighten up soon. There's no need to get worried," she mentions.

"What does it mean to get worried?" He asks as he knows nothing about emotions.

"It just means that don't think about the meaning of the dark clouds, it shall go away soon," she simplifies her answer. Now he is able to understand her better.

"Why did you come to see me?" She asks and he tells her: "I have been summoned by the Master of The Heavens."

"So you are here to cleanse yourself, am I right?" She asks though she knows.

"Your humble servant needs to visit The Heavens in holiness and cleanliness," he explains. With immediate effect, Mother Nature disappears into the sky, and like a fountain, a part of the river springs up and pours around him. His soul starts to illuminate and The Unknown turns into a blue beautiful light. The light bursts out and he dissipates into the sky.

Now that he has been cleansed, he can enter The Heavens. Arriving in one piece, he heads towards the forecourt of The Heavens.

Many have guessed what The Heavens look like. A place that shines and is filled with clouds, a glorious habitat that resembles a garden, a habitat of mystical creatures and some even think that The Heavens is at the far end of the universe, but that is not the case. The Heavens is within the universe or should he says it is the universe. One can only see it with a divine eye. Though it might be seen up close from even a place like Earth, getting to The Heavens might take days, months or even years, depending on one's means of transport. The fastest thing to get to The Heavens are the holy letters. Only humans normally produce these holy letters. They travel in groups and are transported by the angels. As he is on his way to see The Road, there is a need for The Unknown to be a part of the angels, for only angels are allowed to be in The Heavens. But his timing is wrong, for the angels are already gone to receive the holy letters. As a result, once his soul gets to The Heavens, it will be repelled back and thrown to the Holy Stairway, the walkway by which the angels walk from The Heavens to the Earth. If the angels were in The Heavens, they would have opened the portal for him and he would have walked into The Heavens with ease as an angel. But now, he has to wait for them to finish their duties before he can get to The Heavens. This can take days, weeks or even months. Still, after receiving a summon from the Master of The Heavens, one has only three days to respond or else, a punishment, unimaginable, would be received upon a late response. So, he has to make sure that the angels complete their tasks as soon as possible. This compels him to head for the Holy Stairway. In the form of an angel, he ascends the stairway with the other angels. To know full details of what they are doing and the time required to finish, he inquires from the one next to him: "I have to see The Road in two days' time. Can we finish in due time before then?"

The angel tells him in reply: "That is not for me to decide. But since we are bringing in a billion letters, it might take a while to complete them."

"Is there a way to speed up the work?"

"Yes there is. Each angel has a thousand rounds to complete. But if the mightier angels complete more rounds in a shorter period, then the less mighty angels would have less rounds to complete," a very important fact is revealed by the angel.

"And who are these mighty angels?"

"Angel Gabriel's myriads and Angel Peter's myriads," the angel answers to his understanding.

"Thanks for the heads up," he mentions and gets out of the Holy Stairway. As he watches the angels from afar, he wonders: "How do I make the myriads work quickly?"

And then, the answer arrives to his soul like a lightning bolt. Spreading his wings, he flies quickly and go past all the angels. They all turn around to see the angel with such mighty wings, but due to the speed with which he flies, none can see his face.

As he is flying, his eyes rove through the angels in search of Angel Gabriel and Angel Peter. They have golden hair that distinguishes them from the rest, who all have white hair. After flying for a while, he spots the two at the front of the myriads, giving them instructions.

Now, he has to use his power to good use. The two mighty angels leave the myriads after instructing them and he waits for the right opportunity. Once they are gone, he transforms into Angel Gabriel and approach the myriads. Each is about to leave when they see me before them. Immediately they realize his presence, they bow to him as they think that he is Angel Gabriel.

As his stance has worked, he decides to change the instructions, by saying to them: "We have just received new orders. In a period of two days, we have to receive all the holy letters for transportation to The Heavens. As members of the myriads of mighty angels, I trust that you can work harder and ensure that the lesser angels have less rounds to complete. This will ensure that the work is completed in due time. That will be it. You may go to work."

They bow to him once again in obedience and dismiss. Upon seeing his plan work to perfection, he turns to leave when suddenly, a voice asks behind him: "Who are you?"

He turns around and sees Angel Gabriel. As he feels no emotions, he does not panic. The mighty angel looks at him with his eyes popping out.

"Just who are you? And why do you look like…me?" Angel Gabriel's question is a hard one to answer.
