She tried not to be intimidated by his threats but she felt a sense of accomplishment at the thought that she had been able to stand up against the Alpha.
She had been able to show him that she wasn't afraid of him and that she too was determined to get what she wanted. As she lay on her bed she wondered what would happen now.
And what her next step would be.
…
The smell of burning flesh filled her nostrils as she could hear the sounds of loud screams coming from all around.
She pulled her eyes open to find herself in a wedding gown standing before the pack as she watched a ball of flames surround them. She was left helpless as she struggled to free herself, she looked towards the horrific sight that was undecided around her.
"This is all your fault. All you had to do was to agree and then we would be together. But no you had to cause the death of all Your pack members. She heard a voice in her ear.
She turned around to see the man of her nightmares as she tried to get free from her restraints and she made an attempt to run away from him but he only laughed at her dismay.
"You aren't getting away that easily. You have managed to escape the hands of one monster and you have fallen into the hands of another." He chuckled.
She felt a set of clawd dig into her skin and she cried out in pain.
….
She sat up abruptly on the bed and she took a look around as she realized that she was back in the pack and it was just a dream and turn it had been so realistic.
It was morning now and she found a small bowl of water on the side as she was quick to use it to wash her face.
She sat back on her bed as she wondered what she was to do with her time now. She was relieved when moments later she heard the sound of a loud knock on her door. She bent over to pull it open and for a second she couldn't help but wonder if it was the Alpha. She was relieved when she opened the door and she found that it wasn't.
Instead, a smiling Beta stood on the other end and she was simply relieved to see that there was a friendly face there.
"Good morning Luna." He said to her with a bright grin. She nodded her head at him in return. "So I have a few things for you to do today. The alpha thought it would be good to help you get used to the pack," he said to her and she looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
The Alpha thought this or you thought this?" She asked him and he only shrugged his shoulders at her in response but that was all that she needed to hear.
"Well I did but the only reason that I did it was because I knew that he didn't want to cause more trouble between the two of you, especially not after yesterday." He said to her, and she watched as he scratched the back of his head.
She found the gesture sweet and she was happy that he should have some form of appreciation for him. She didn't want to admit it then but she really did need as many friends as she could get.
"Well, then what do you have in mind?" She asked him. She watched as he raised his hands to his chin as he seemed to think over it. "Well, there is the water festival that is happening next week. To bless the harvest we normally have a few traditions to carry out before then. But I am not sure if this is the right time for you to join in with something like that." He said to her and she could sense the panic in his tone.
She placed her hands on her hips as she looked towards him with a raised eyebrow. "Are you sure about that? Because I thought that you were the one that wanted me to get more novels in the matters of the pack, well this is my way of getting it solved." She said to him.
"Yes, I am aware that I said that but this festival is very sacred and they are set to choose a queen for it. You don't want to come in the middle of it and end up causing any trouble." He said to her and she couldn't help but gasp slightly at his words.
"So you mean to say that you don't think I am fit to come into your pack matters. And yet you were the one who was encouraging." She said to him. She watched as he shook his head at her in panic.
"Do you know what, thank you for the advice but I think that I will do my own thing. I want to go and join in the festival. I wait to show the people that Luna wants to be involved. I will not back down even if they continue to show their disdain towards me. I will continue to press forward." She said to him.
She watched as a slight smile came over his features and she wondered what he was for. She raised an eyebrow at him in question. "What is it?" She asked.
He only shook his head at her in response. "I am glad to see that you are finally starting to get into your Luna role and I am here for you. You shouldn't call me Beta. I am below you call me Adam." He said to her and she smiled as she found herself grateful to have him there.
She allowed him to let her outside as they headed towards the fields where she saw some women sitting on mats making flower crowns. She cleared her throat causing them to look at her.
She felt one set of eyes in particular. The girl who had been on the Alpha's lap. "Well hello, Luna." She mused.
