Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

"It's time to wake up, Reya." Reina said as the carriage stopped and Reya slowly opened her eyes, "Did you sleep well?"

"Mmh." Reya hummed as she listened to Reina's heartbeat, still exhausted, and both of her parents smiled slightly before the door opened. Reya shifted her gaze to in front of them as they stepped out of the carriage, and she had a sudden burst of energy when she saw the line of maids and butlers bowing in front of the massive mansion.

"Prepare a bath and a set of clean clothes for my daughter." Drake told the only maid standing in the foyer as they stepped inside, and he gave a quick bow before taking Reya from Reina, "Call for the family doctor as well."

"Is the water too hot?" The maid asked Reya after she helped her into the bathtub, and Reya shook her head as the maid examined the bruises on the young girl's body. After the bath, the maid led her into a large bedroom where Drake and a doctor were already waiting, and he could feel his anger building as the maid described Reya's wounds to the doctor before he noticed how anxious Reya seemed to be.

"He's not going to hurt you." Drake told her as he walked over, but she just gave him a worried look, and he kneeled down in front of her with a small smile, "He's here to take care of your injuries so you don't need to be afraid."

"Ok..." Reya said as the doctor gently placed his hand on her back, and she was surrounded by a faint green light as he used magic to heal her. She sighed in relief as she felt all of the pain in her body disappear before her exhaustion returned, and the doctor left as the maid laid her down.

"Tomorrow will be hectic, so get some rest." Drake told her as he and the maid walked towards the door, and he looked over his shoulder to see that she was already sleeping as he shut it behind them. He immediately made his way to his and Reina's room while deep in thought, and when he entered, he saw that she was already getting ready for sleep herself. They shared a silent look for a moment before climbing into their bed and slowly falling asleep, both of them trying to push what they learned to the back of their minds for now.

"So it wasn't a dream." Reya said as she opened her eyes to see that she was still in her new bed and she rubbed her eyes as she sat up. She climbed out of the large bed with a yawn and began to explore her room with a curious look until the door slowly opened.

"Oh, you're already awake, Young Lady?" A maid asked as she walked inside, and Reya gave her a smile, "I brought you a change of clothes Lady Reina picked out for you. She also wants to see you as soon as you're ready."

"Okay." Reya said happily as she took the clothes with a smile, and after she changed, she walked beside the maid as they made their way through the mansion, the other servants bowing as they walked past them, "Why are they doing that?"

"Because you're Master Drake and Lady Reina's child." The maid explained as they stopped in front of a set of double doors, and they walked in to see Reina sitting alone at the large dining room table, quietly reading a book.

"Good morning, Reya." Reina told her with a small smile as she set the book down and motioned for her to sit in the chair across from her as the maid left the two alone, "Your breakfast will be ready shortly but in the mean time I want to ask you a few questions."

"Yes, Ma'am." Reya said as she sat down and watched as Reina set her book down before she looked at the empty chair at the front of the table, "Where's Daddy?"

"He's currently working in his office. Once you're done, I'll bring you there." Reina explained as a butler brought Reya her food, and her face lit up as she took a bite. Reina realized just how hungry Reya was by how fast she was eating, and she could feel herself becoming angry as she thought about what her sister must have been feeding her.

"All done!" Reya said with a smile as she hopped off of the chair, and a maid quickly took the empty plate back to the kitchen as Reina stood up, "Can we go see him now?"

"Yes, we can." Reina told her as she took Reya's hand, and they made their way through the mansion until they reached a fancy looking door and she opened the door to see that Drake seemed to be in a meeting with several men, "Am I interrupting?"

"Not at all, but aren't you supposed to be training the new Knights?" Drake asked as he leaned back in his chair before he noticed Reya standing behind her, "You can leave her here if you want to get down there."

"Are you sure?" Reina asked as she stepped out of Reya's way, and Drake gave her a nod as the little girl stepped inside, "Alright. They're probably slacking off right now anyway."

"I'm not in the way, am I?" Reya asked as Reina shut the door, and Drake stared at her for a moment before setting her in his lap, "D-Daddy?"

"I thought she was the servant of the Allure family? I'm positive I've seen her cleaning their house." One of the men whispered as they watched the two stare at each other, and the other men started to murmur. Drake glared at the men as he opened his mouth to say something but stopped when he felt Reya's presence grow stronger, and he gave her a curious look when he saw that her red irises were glowing.

"What did you call me?" Reya asked them in a cold tone that instantly reminded them of Drake, and they all froze in place, making Drake smile slightly.
