Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Serendipitous Encounter

Thomas followed Catherine and saw her off to the car, both of them appearing like a romantic couple. The spiritual connection between Thomas and Catherine became evident, an invisible thread linking their souls. They both knew that this chance encounter could mark the beginning of a meaningful and loving journey.

"My car has arrived. Goodbye, hopefully we'll meet again soon."

"Goodbye," Thomas murmured.

As Catherine got into the car and drove away, Thomas's gaze remained fixed on her until she disappeared from sight. He didn't quite know what he was feeling right. It's a mixture of nostalgia and anticipation for their next meeting.

"Hey Matt, guess what? I just had the most incredible date with Catherine!"

"Really? Tell me all about it, man! How did it go?"

"Oh, it was amazing! From the moment I saw her walking into the restaurant, I was completely blown away by her beauty. She was like a vision, Matt, I couldn't take my eyes off her."

As Thomas began to depict Catherine, his voice took on a gentle and fluid quality. His tone overflowed with sweetness and tenderness, accompanied by words as delicate as white petals dancing in the wind. Through eloquent and gentle phrases, Thomas painted an image of Catherine akin to a precious gem unearthed, one he held with immense pride.

"Well, we sat down and started talking, and I couldn't help but feel this strong connection with her. We laughed, we shared stories, and the conversation just flowed effortlessly."

"You should be grateful to me, Thomas. I've been the one who connected you two," Nicole quipped with a playful grin.

"Thanks for bringing me so much trouble," she said, her voice laced with a mix of sarcasm and genuine gratitude.

"It's like lightning has struck me, and I can't get her out of my mind. I keep replaying our conversations and her beautiful smile in my head. I can't help but feel this overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation for what the future holds.", Thomas said.

"That's incredible, Thomas. It's clear that Catherine has made quite an impression on you. I'm really happy for you, man."

Thomas found himself reminiscing about the question Catherine had posed to him as she departed.

"I'm well aware that both of us came here with the intention of a contractual marriage. But Catherine, there's no need to be tense. I'll give you the answer at our next meeting."

"Alright then, I hope in our next meeting, we can continue discussing this matter."

"Goodbye, Catherine."

With that, Thomas smiled and resumed his work.

Simultaneously, Catherine received a phone call from Nicole.

"Today's date was amazing, wasn't it, Catherine? He's amazing, isn't he?"

"Matt is very sophisticated and charming, and he has a great sense of humor," Catherine softly replied.

"That's a casual answer! You know that's not what I meant. Did the contract between you and him go smoothly?"

"Matt said he'll give me the answer in our next encounter."

"It seems like he's quite a schemer, Catherine."

The conversation ended at nearly 12:00 pm. Thomas and Catherine, without any prior arrangement, found themselves pondering each other and the romantic meeting of the day. As they both drifted into slumber, thoughts of one another lingered in their minds.

A week later, at the film set, the director introduced the new sponsor to everyone.

"Allow me to introduce Thomas, he's the director of the fashion company that will be gracing us with its sponsorship for the wardrobe."

The entire film crew fell into hushed awe in the presence of Thomas. Standing at an impressive 5ft 10in, his sun-kissed physique seemed to capture the attention of all. Today, he was clad in a teal vest that emanated an air of understated elegance, a delicate fusion of grace and opulence.

A gentle smile tugged at his lips as he turned his gaze towards Catherine, prompting everyone's eyes to follow suit.

An awkward tension began to permeate the air, and the director promptly took hold of Catherine's arm, stating, "This is Catherine, our lead actress for this project."

Catherine's gaze oscillated, her words stumbling as if she couldn't quite believe her ears. "His name is Thomas? Are you certain? This can't possibly be this nonsensical."

In stark contrast to Catherine's disbelief, Thomas remained seemingly unruffled, as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. "I apologize, but haven't we met before, Miss?"

Catherine swiftly pulled Thomas away amidst the onlookers' perplexity. She led him to an empty plot of land, ensuring that their conversation would remain private.

"What is your game? Your name is Thomas, so who is this Matt?" Catherine's voice carried a justified anger.

"To be honest, my name is Thomas. That day, I stood in for Matt during our meeting. I genuinely apologize for deceiving you."

Catherine's heart sank as she discovered the truth - Thomas had deceived her. A whirlwind of emotions washed over her, a profound sense of disappointment mingling with a burning anger. Her trust had been shattered, and she found herself grappling with a flood of intense feelings.

"Deception? Why, Thomas? I trusted and supported you wholeheartedly." Catherine felt a mix of disappointment and anger.

"I understand, and I'm sincerely sorry. I acted foolishly and am unworthy of your trust. I don't know how to make up for that."

Catherine spoke softly, "Thomas, we need time to navigate this situation. Right now, I need time to think and consider whether we can move forward from here. Is this the surprise you had in store for me?"

"I know, Catherine, and I'm truly sorry. I never intended to hurt you. I only wanted a chance to explain to you, but I deceived you to hide my true identity."

Disappointed, Catherine walked away, leaving Thomas behind with a wistful smile, unaware that someone else had captured their recent conversation on camera.

"Beloved Catherine, you are mine and only mine."

Thomas' emotions were a tangled web of possessiveness and obsession as he longed for Catherine to be his and his alone. A dark and selfish desire burned within him, consuming his thoughts and clouding his judgment.
