"Don't talk to me about him anymore. I don't want to hear you mention that person's name!" Max Sully's tone became heavier.
Keira Leaf was startled and slightly lowered her head, like a child who had done something wrong.
Max Sully lowered his gaze and saw the unease in her expression. His nose felt a bit sour, and he reached out to tightly embrace her as he said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry."
Keira Leaf revealed a slight smile, "You haven't done anything wrong, why are you apologizing to me."
"I... I just feel sorry for you," Max Sully said, his voice choked with emotion.
Keira Leaf gently patted his back, "I know."
Max Sully didn't speak again. He truly felt compassion for the woman in front of him. Unfortunately, he couldn't stop her decisions.
