Max Sully was startled, then turned his head to look at the young girl beside him.
Keira Leaf said softly, "I don't have an appointment with Professor Lewis today, he may not have time, and I plan to go to the hospital..."
The words that followed were almost too difficult for Keira Leaf to articulate, as she gently placed her hand on her stomach, her eye sockets inexplicably soured: "I plan to go to the hospital to get an ultrasound for the baby."
Max Sully did not speak; he just silently directed the car towards the hospital, seemingly unfazed by whatever decision Keira Leaf would make at this moment.
"I heard that you can see what the baby looks like in an ultrasound, and you can even see the baby moving," Keira Leaf whispered to herself.
Max Sully furrowed his brow as he glanced at Keira Leaf's stomach, feeling somewhat worried, yet ultimately saying nothing.
