Keira Leaf sat at Joshua Sulliven's bedside, staring blankly at him, hoping he would wake up soon. For the first time, she found the twenty-four hours unbearably long, so unbearable that she didn't know what else she could do.
But the thought of his awakening made Keira start worrying whether he could accept the reality of his blindness—if that were the case, what should she do then?
On the other side, Stuart Truman finished his meal, hesitated for a while, looked around, and finally found a small mirror in the drawer at the headboard. He placed it on the table and quietly left the room with his lunch box.
When Keira came back to her senses, she noticed Stuart was gone. She looked up at the mirror on the table, furrowed her brow, and reached out to pick it up.
She would have been better off not touching it because as soon as she did, Keira stared at her reflection with wide eyes, "Ah-ah--! You bunch of rascals!"
